Famous Buildings

1. I like the Castles, Palaces, and Forts category of the Famous Buildings the best. I think these types of buildings are really interesting and I personally think they are the prettiest types of buildings.

2. I liked the Tower of London the best. This was my favorite building because it is a part of my favorite category and I love learning about England.

3. I would have liked to see the Wartburg Castle included in this unit. It would have been interesting because I did a research paper on Germany in freshman year and researched the Wartburg Caslte. It would fall under the Castles, Palaces, and Forts category.

Client Project #2

I designed a home for the family of Joe, Mary, and their newborn daughter. Joe is an engineer and his wife, Mary, is a stay-at-home mom for their daughter. The couple had many requirements for their home. Due to their budget, the house could not exceed 1500 square feet. Their plot of land has a pond and they wanted to build near it. It would be ideal if there was a small deck near the pond and the family would like a green house, even if it is small. For the interior, the living room should have bookshelves and Mary has a Baby-Grand piano that should be in the open living area. Since Joe is an engineer, he requested a quiet study with a desk.  Mary wanted a sewing room, but it could be a part of the laundry room. There should be at least 2 bathrooms as well as enough bedrooms to accommodate a growing family.

In their plans for the home, I met all of the family's needs. The home is 1148 square feet and is near the pond on the plot of land. A deck is next to the pond and there is a small green house attached to the home. There are bookshelves lining a wall of the living room as well as Mary's piano in the open living space. Joe has a study attached to the master bedroom where it will be quiet enough for him to do his work. Mary has a sewing/laundry room and there are 3 bathrooms in the house. There are also three bedrooms: the master bedroom, a bedroom for Mary and Joe's newborn daughter, and a room for any other children the couple plan on having.
