Places of Worship

Places of Worship are buildings or other locations where congregations come to perform acts of religious praise, honor, or devotion.
  • Propylaea -
    • After climbing the steps of the Acropolis, you are at the entrance which is the Propylaea.
    • This was created by Mnesicles.
  • Parthenon -
    • The architects were Ictinos and Callicrates.
    • It was dedicated to Athena Parthenos.

  • Esztergom Basilica, Hungary -
    • The architect was József Hild.
    • It is the largest church in Hungary.



  • Las Lajas Sanctuary, Colombia-
    • The architect was Lucinda Espinoza.
    • It was built where, in 1754, the first lightning image of the Virgin Mary was seen.
